In the aftermath of 9/11, Franklin Graham arrived at New York City’s Ground Zero to discover there wasn’t enough counselors, chaplains or clergy to care for the emotional and spiritual needs of those suffering. At the request of churches for help, the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team (BG-RRT) was initially founded to provide biblically based grief and trauma training.
Since then, church leaders have continued to invite BG-RRT chaplains to comfort those facing crises and provide training seminars to equip God’s people for grief ministry. The BG-RRT has grown into a network of 2,500 volunteer crisis-trained chaplains in 48 states, including the U.S. territory of Puerto Rico, and also has an international presence in Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
Prepared to deploy anywhere in the world at a moment’s notice, Billy Graham chaplains minister to thousands in the name of Jesus by listening, praying and offering practical assistance in the wake of hurricanes, tornadoes, shootings and acts of terrorism. Your gift can help train and deploy chaplains to respond to man-made and natural disasters.
